Austin ISD is seeking to generate more funding through offering naming rights opportunities at its shared facilities.
Businesses and organizations may provide sponsorships to earn naming rights at six major district buildings and athletic spaces. The new initiative—launched in partnership with the Austin Ed Fund—is expected to generate AISD tens of millions of dollars as it faces a projected $19.7 million budget shortfall and plans to close 13 schools.
The details
AISD is offering naming rights at the following facilities:
- AISD Performing Arts Center
- House Park Field
- Nelson Field
- Burger Center
- Delco Center
- Noack Sports Complex
Multiple levels of naming rights opportunities are available, from individual spaces like press boxes to marquee facilities, according to Austin Ed Fund information. The AISD education foundation will oversee the program, including all naming agreements and fund management.

What they’re saying
"This naming rights program represents a significant opportunity for businesses and organizations to make a lasting impact on Austin's educational landscape while gaining meaningful community recognition," Superintendent Matias Segura said in a news release. "We're seeking partners who share our commitment to high-quality education and want to invest in the future of Austin's students."
Some context
AISD is working to combat budgetary constraints amid declining enrollment and insufficient state funding, district officials said. Fully implementing the naming rights program is expected to generate AISD "substantial new revenue each year," according to an Austin Ed Fund news release.
The district is anticipated to lower a projected $127 million shortfall to $19.7 million through making $44 million in budget reductions. Additionally, AISD is expected to receive $45 million through selling two former campuses alongside other cost saving measures.
On Oct. 3, the district announced its plans to close 13 schools in the 2026-27 school year. The proposed school closures and attendance boundary changes are estimated to save the district $25.6 million through reducing staff and utility costs, according to AISD information.
"We have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to reshape who we are as an organization for the next 100 years," Segura said at an Austin Ed Fund luncheon Oct. 14. "The fact is, we cannot become what we need to be by remaining who we are."
