Existing attendance boundaries for Dripping Springs ISD will be shifted by next school year as a new elementary school and the expansion of Sycamore Springs Middle School near completion.

The overview

The new elementary school, located in the Headwaters Neighborhood, will be open for students for the 2025-26 academic year. This spring, the expansion of Sycamore Springs Middle is estimated to be complete, increasing the school’s capacity from 850 students to 1,200.

“That's going to change some of our capacity for elementary and middle school, which means we're going to be rezoning for all elementary schools and middle schools over the fall,” DSISD superintendent Holly Morris-Kuentz said during a board meeting Aug. 26.

Morris-Kuentz said two committees are examining the district’s attendance boundaries: an administrative advisory committee and a community advisory committee.

Demographer Population and Survey Analysts, or PASA, will prepare an initial proposal for zoning and work with the district to finalize it.
