What happened

Designed by Austin-based Land Strategies Inc., the Fitzhugh Retail center covers almost 14,000 square feet at 15210 Fitzhugh Road.

It includes a roughly 12,000-square-foot multi-tenant commercial building and a standalone 2,000-square-foot pad building for a future cafe at the corner of Fitzhugh and Trautwein roads.

The estimated $2.8 million project is now substantially complete and tenant leasing is ongoing, according to LSI. The main retail building has room for up to eight potential tenants, although spaces can be combined.

The new retail center is meant to evoke a classic "Texas main street" aesthetic inspired by small town storefronts like New Braunfels' Gruene Hall, according to LSI.
