With 235 newly confirmed cases July 29, Travis County has exceeded 20,000 total cases over the course of the pandemic. Austin Public Health currently reports there have been 20,187 total cases in the county, with an estimated 17,691 recoveries.
APH also reported 37 new coronavirus-related hospital admissions in Greater Austin in the past day, bringing the seven-day moving average of daily admissions down to 41.3. If average daily admissions drop below 40, local authorities could downgrade the Austin MSA's coronavirus risk from Stage 4 to Stage 3.
In total, 371 COVID-19 patients are presently locally hospitalized, with 128 in intensive care units. 264 Travis County residents have died from the virus.
