From new spaces to catch a sports game to coffee shops offering specialty flavors and baked goods, here are some of the latest business for the South Austin area. This list is not comprehensive.

The company’s latest Southwest Austin location is owned and operated by Carrie and Jeff Leinen. Community members can find personalized senior care assessments, guided tours and placement support, financial guidance, emergency placement assistance and ongoing support.1. Bouldin Acres

The dining and entertainment space has moved into the building previously occupied by Lustre Pearl South which closed on Aug. 3. The space features TVs, two bars, shaded patio tables and bites from CM Smokehouse, a Texas barbecue-style food truck serving both traditional and inventive options.

2. Crunch Fitness


Southpark Meadows’ newest fitness center has opened for business with a range of equipment including cardio and strength training equipment, half-hour circuit training, personal training, a group fitness studio, Olympic lifting platforms, a HIIT training area with indoor turf and more.

Leaf It To Me

The in-home plant and pet sitting service has launched, providing services throughout the Southwest Austin community. Interested customers can receive services for short-term and long-term getaways offered by professionals with training in horticulture and animal care.

3. Nutty Brown Press


The locally-owned and operated printing press is now offering educational publishing and printing services for schools, business and community organizations. Printing services also include textbooks, workbooks, flyers and brochures.

4. Peaches Coffee

As locals to the area, the business’ owners were inspired to open a location in a West Austin neighborhood, co-owner Molly Gaffney said. The business currently offers a range of coffee drinks and small bites including breakfast tacos and gluten free pastries provided by Maaribu.

5. Restaurant Depot

The business launched its 164th location, showcasing a space for businesses to find supplies for front and back of house including meat, poultry, seafood, produce, frozen foods, disposables, janitorial products and supplies from major manufacturers.


6. Talisman Coffee

The business is operated by co-founder and roaster Fernando Alvarado, co-founder Johanna Alvarado Barker and farmers Yuri and Johanna Alvarado. While the coffee trailer presents classic options from lattes and americanos to cold brew and matcha, customers can also try out its specialty drinks.

7. Trinkets ATX

The do-it-yourself craft studio offers tools, supplies and both public and private spaces to create. Additionally, the team hosts several community events throughout the month. Helmed by Leslie McReynolds, Trinkets ATX was opened in honor of her late cousin, John D. Griego, and his wife.

Coming Soon

8. Kendra Scott


Austin-based jewelry brand Kendra Scott is expected to open a location inside the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. According to a permit filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the company will start construction in September and will be finished by late October.

9. Mendocino Farms

A new location of Mendocino Farms is opening soon in Sunset Valley. The eatery offers sandwiches, salads, soups and sides. The first Mendocino Farms opened in 2005 in Southern California. Since then, the company has opened over 70 locations, including 10 in Texas, with more opening soon.

10. Velocity Credit Union


The new full-service branch is expected to feature two Interactive Teller Machine (ITM) drive-thru lanes, teller pods, four private offices and dedicated spaces for the Branch Manager and Assistant Branch Manager.

11. Crossfit Jaakarhu

The fitness space celebrated its 10th anniversary as well as the launch of its St. Elmo Sauna on Aug. 9. The business focuses on combining crossfit with strength and conditioning and health and wellness through a lens of community and accountability.

12. St. David’s South Austin Medical Center

St. David’s South Austin Medical Center now has a dedicated space for breast milk donations to expand resources for South Austin parents. Donations can be dropped off by approved donors without an appointment between noon and 6 p.m. on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays.

13. The Hive

Owner Shelly Weiser said the business is freshening up its main area with the help of business partner Richard Calhoun and general manager Chris Houk. The area will be welcoming a full cocktail bar and 10 TVs to catch sports games while enjoying a creative drink.

14. Polyphonic Coffee

The coffee shop opened in November 2024 under the name Parakeet Coffee, before the team realized that another business was already operating under Parakeet. The owner, Joe Kaulbach, recently renamed the business to Polyphonic Coffee this Spring to rectify the issue. Kaulbach said the new name represents both Austin’s music history and the collaboration of the coffee industry.

15. Sagebrush

The South Austin music venue opened five years ago and has been offering up beer and live music ever since. The venue held a grand opening in June of 2020 before closing due to COVID-19 restrictions and then reopened Sept. 1 of that year.

16. Nantz Orthodontics

The orthodontist office celebrated 15 years of business this summer. The practice is helmed by Dr. J.L. Nantz.
