Austin creatives now have a new spot to collaborate and craft, as Trinkets ATX is now open in South Austin.

The gist

The do-it-yourself craft studio offers tools, supplies and both public and private spaces to create. The Trinkets team welcomes artists and “makers” of all skill levels.

Additionally, the team hosts several community events throughout the month, such as journaling workshops and a stained glass class. All supplies are included with the purchase of a ticket.

Meet the owner

Trinkets ATX is woman and Latina-owned by local Leslie McReynolds. McReynolds opened Trinkets ATX in honor of her late cousin, John D. Griego, and his wife. After the couple passed in 2021, McReynolds opened Trinkets ATX in their honor, based on their shared vision.

McReynolds and Griego grew up in a small town with limited resources for artists, and in 2009, they came up with the idea for a space where artists could come to collaborate and create together.

“As our art passion grew, so did the idea of making our dream come true,” McReynolds said in an email to Community Impact.
