Business owner Draven Lane marked the opening of her new Dripping Springs Fire and Flow Pilates studio with a ribbon cutting ceremony May 16.

The overview

Lane’s studio focuses on combining Pilates with strength training. Guests can take private or duet sessions, as well as join small-group reformer classes. Guests will also receive personalized training and guidance during classes, according to the business website.

Lane said she is grateful to have a space for people to grow in their health journey.

“This means the entire world to me,” she told Community Impact. “To be able to see it all together, to be able to empower others to take back their own health, that’s absolutely everything.”

She said that especially with the prevalence of social media and its “unrealistic” ideals, it can make people feel that a “Pilates body” is unattainable. She said she wants her space to be welcoming for everyone.

“If you have a body, you have a Pilates body,” she said. “Pilates is for everybody, whether you're an ultra-beginner, you have injuries, you’ve never worked out in your life, or you’re an elite athlete—every part of Pilates can make you better.”

Lane said she hopes to see people in her classes soon, especially those who might be hesitant to join.

“If anyone who's reading or listening to any of this out there has ever wondered if they can do it, stop wondering,” she said. “Come in, take a class, and I promise you’re gonna leave feeling like an absolute superhero.”

How we got here

Lane said she started doing Pilates right before the COVID-19 pandemic when she was facing health issues and was dissatisfied with her previous job. Once the COVID-19 pandemic began, she decided to pursue her passion full-time.

“I was like, ‘You know what? This is the time. This is the universe telling me that it’s time to make a shift,” she said. “I finished 500 hours of education in 90 days, start to finish. I was obsessed...And I haven’t looked back since.”

Lane previously operated privately out of her home before moving into her new spot on Nutty Brown.
