Community members can get involved in the fundraiser by making a donation or shopping at local business partners who are donating a portion of proceeds to the fundraiser. Participating businesses include:Dig deeper

DSCL has been working to fundraise for a new library that would include study rooms, multipurpose rooms, an outdoor amphitheater for events, conference rooms, more parking spots, a playground and more.

DSCL is hoping to raise a total of $5 million to fund the project, which would expand the library’s services. The library currently serves over 52,000 guests, according to the Texas State Library and Archives Association.

Between 2017-22, the Dripping Springs population nearly doubled, which has contributed an influx in guests visiting the library. That growth has contributed to DSCL’s need for a bigger space and more materials, as previously reported by Community Impact.

DSCL is one of 15 library districts in Texas, meaning it does not receive funding through property taxes, the city or county. Instead, the library relies on donations, grants and 0.25% of the sales tax revenue generated within the library district’s borders, according to library officials.
