A new sports club is coming to the Sunset Canyon and Headwaters neighborhoods, currently set to open in 2027.

The details

The Dripping Springs Sports Club, spanning over 200,000 square feet, will include various sports and recreational spaces, according to a social media post from the business. The hub will feature sections focused on fitness and wellness, family entertainment and sports courts.

The fitness and wellness amenities will cover about 60,000 feet and will include:
  • Workout equipment
  • Group fitness classes
  • High-performance training areas
  • Elevated running track overlooking the Dripping Springs hill country
Family entertainment amenities include an estimated 20,000 square feet featuring:
  • Indoor adventure park
  • Birthday party spaces
  • Climate-controlled play area
  • Childcare options
Over 100,000 square feet will be dedicated to sports courts, including:
  • Four high school basketball courts, convertible to 12 volleyball courts
  • Six covered pickleball courts
  • Four beach volleyball courts
  • Outdoor basketball court
  • 20,000 square feet of outdoor turf area
The venue will also have a cafe, extended hours for post-workout support and weekend service for tournaments.

Rose said having a central location with sports facilities and food options can provide a valuable resource for community members, especially those with families.

“DSSC will serve as a community hub where parents can work out while their children practice, siblings can participate in different activities simultaneously, and families can reconnect over meals instead of spending hours in traffic,” he said. “This isn't just about convenience—it's about creating a healthier, more balanced lifestyle for Dripping Springs families.

Rose said the project is in the pre-development phase, but that the project is moving forward with a projected opening date in mid-2027.

The team behind the project

Rose has experience coaching youth sports and serves as president of the Dripping Springs youth Sports Association Volleyball. His wife, Ashley, founded the Dripping Springs chapter of Kardivas, a club for fifth grade students focused on character development.

The leadership team also includes former collegiate and professional basketball player Luke Axtell, who will lead the basketball programming at DSSC. Denver Lee, co-founder and director of Austin Performance Volleyball, and Chris Lupton, Hill Country Indoor founder, will be advisors to the project.
