A new restaurant has joined the array of dining options in Lantana Place: Tancho Sushi and Sake.

On the menu

The Japanese restaurant offers omakase-style dining, meaning the choices are left up to the chef. The menu has four omakase-style options ranging in price and selection. Each begins with a sunomono salad—cucumber salad with red seaweed and sesame—followed by tuna sashimi.

The culinary team at Tancho also makes their own soy sauce and ponzu.

Guests can order from a selection of sake to pair with their meal in addition to wine and beer.

Quote of note

“As Austin continues to grow, we wanted to introduce a fresh take on the sushi experience,” Tancho co-founder Brad Van Otterloo said in a news release. “We’re here to make sushi approachable for Austinites while honoring the integrity of this cuisine. It’s about creating a space where everyone can discover and enjoy sushi at their own pace—no pressure, no pretense.”

Check it out

Tancho seats up to 50 people and is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. with dine-in and takeout options available. The restaurant does not offer reservations, in order to make the omakase experience more accessible, according to a news release.
