Known for its Thirsty Goat Amber, Buckethead IPA, Spot On Pils and Fat Bat Hazy IPA, customers can also try a variety of 10 beers on tap as well as ciders, meads and nonalcoholic options. The taproom includes both indoor and outdoor seating, televisions, and games. Thirsty Planet is kid-friendly and dog-friendly.
"We have a wide variety of beers that aren't just specific [to] one area's style," Operations Manager Mark Farmer said. "We have beer styles from around the planet."
The brewing company has been operating since 2010 and began operating in the South Congress location in 2017.
"We're excited to be open," owner Brian Smittle said. "Now the community can come here, and we can talk to our customers face-to-face."
Local to Austin, the company partners with local charities, including Divine Canines, Livestrong and Sunshine Run. Thirsty Planet will participate in Barks for Beers, a fundraiser from Divine Canines that supports therapy dog services, from April 28-May 31.
The taproom's grand opening will be hosted April 22-23. Food trucks, including Roger Boyz Family BBQ, Yapa Empanadas and Flyrite Chicken will be at the taproom that weekend.
Thirsty Planet Brewing's taproom is open every Friday-Sunday from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Plans to open on other days of the week are in the works, according to Farmer.
