The store is a relocation of the now closed Brodie Oaks shopping center location, formerly at 4040 S. Lamar Blvd. It is situated in a renovated 70,000-square-foot building formerly occupied by a Randalls that closed in 2021.

There are two other Hobby Lobby stores in Austin: one at 8000 Research Blvd. and the other in South Austin at 9600 S. I-35, Ste. L.
