Hobby Lobby is renovating a more than 70,000-square-foot space at 6600 S. MoPac, at the intersection with William Cannon Drive in Southwest Austin.

The location will replace a Randalls that closed in summer 2021. Construction on the store is set to end in June, according to a permit filed with the state. Hobby Lobby has not provided a timeline for opening the new location.

There are currently three Hobby Lobby locations in the Austin area. The new space is located about 9 miles southwest of the Hobby Lobby at 4040 S. Lamar Blvd. Brodie Oaks, a 36-acre mixed-use development, is set to begin construction in 2024 and will build over the Lamar store's address. The project could include 200 hotel rooms, restaurants, retail space and more than a million square feet of offices.
