Fewer Central Austin homes sold year over year in September; more days spent on market

In all but two of Central Austin’s 12 ZIP codes, the average number of days homes spent on the market in September 2024 compared to September 2023 increased significantly, according to data from the Austin Board of Realtors.

Outliers 78704 saw an over 41% decrease in average days, while 78757 saw no change year over year.

In all but two of Central Austin’s ZIP codes, the number of homes sold in September 2024 compared to September 2023 decreased by up to over 80%.

Little change was seen year over year in median home prices, with five ZIP codes seeing slight prices increases while seven saw slight decreases.

In September 2024, a plurality of homes sold in Central Austin were in the $900,000 and over price range.
