This year, the venue is celebrating 50 years of “Austin City Limits,” the weekly music performance TV program produced by Austin PBS. The show’s first broadcast was on Oct. 17, 1974, and starred Willie Nelson.
According to a news release, the tour begins with a short film showcasing some of the iconic performances from “Austin City Limits.” Past performers include Stevie Ray Vaughn, B.B. King, Chris Stapleton, Kacey Musgraves and more.
