What you need to know
Road closures will come in two phases:
- Phase 1 will see Old Stagecoach Road closed from Cypress Forest Drive to Three Forks Drive, through Jan. 16.
- Phase 2 will see Old Stagecoach Road closed from Cypress Forest Drive to Six Creeks Boulevard, Dec. 2-10.
Officials said the relocation is necessary to facilitate the city's 2022 voter-approved road bonds, which will widen Old Stagecoach Road to a four-lane roadway.
The cost
In total, the relocation to a pocket park about a quarter mile northwest of its current spot is expected to cost $932,800, according to city documents.
City officials said preliminary estimates indicate other related costs could include:
- Road restoration: $129,540
- Water valve installation: $5,000
- Pocket park development: $300,000-$600,000
The pocket park is expected to be completed by fall 2026, while the widening of Old Stagecoach Road should be completed by 2027.
- Through Dec. 1: tree excavation and treatment
- Dec. 2-10: tree relocation
- Dec. 2-Jan. 16: road repair
- Fall 2026: construction completed on the pocket park
