Buda is making moves towards a solution to congestion at the FM 1626 and RM 967 intersection.

Buda City Council received an update on the FM 1626 and RM 967 intersection study during its May 20 meeting. The intersection is one of the city’s busiest and sees heavy traffic throughout the day, according to the city presentation and city staff.

Lane closures, detours expected on Bebee Road through June

Drivers should plan for intermittent lane closures and possible detours along Bebee Road, between Dacy Lane and Anton Drive, from May 27 to June 27, according to the city of Kyle’s website.

Crews will intermittently close lanes to remove old asphalt, repair street failures and apply a new asphalt overlay, according to the website.

The city website says residents along the affected stretch are asked to park in their driveways rather than on the street while work is underway. Drivers should obey traffic signs and exercise caution around heavy equipment and flaggers.

Kyle City Council approves safer, faster fix for Roland Lane intersection

Kyle drivers navigating the intersection of Roland Lane and the southbound I-35 frontage road will soon see safety improvements after City Council approved a May 6 proposal to construct a longer deceleration lane on the frontage road to help drivers turn into Roland Lane.

The decision follows several concerns raised about traffic safety and flow at the intersection, according to city documents, prompting engineering consultants and city staff to present two design options for council consideration.
