Three Six General, located at 1904 RR 12, San Marcos, opened Aug. 26 but is having a grand opening event of its first retail location Sept. 5. Information from owner Matti Bills states Three Six General began at the farmers markets in Austin and vends at seven area markets between San Antonio and Central Texas. The butcher shop specializes in local sourcing, whole-animal butchery, and curing and smoking meats. Three Six General features an array of fresh-cut meats, cheeses, charcuterie, local vegetables and prepared foods, in addition to pantry items prepared by many other local vendors from the farmers markets.
