With winter just around the corner, San Marcos officials are partnering with the local Salvation Army to collect and distribute heaters to residents in need. Donations will be accepted through Dec. 12.
“Each year, our community shows incredible generosity through the winter heater drive,” Brian McHenry, SMTX Utilities assistant director, said in a news release. “These donations help families stay safe and comfortable during the colder months and remind us of the power of neighbors helping neighbors.”
How to give help
Officials said there are two options to support those in need, including:
- Purchase a heater through the online Amazon Wish List dedicated to the initiative
- Make a monetary donation through Stripe, an online payment service
