On the ballot
As previously reported by Community Impact, MUDs are typically created for divisions in which a city does not provide utilities, typically due to city limits. MUDs construct and manage utilities such as water and sewage systems so that residents in the neighborhood can receive those services.
Dates to know
- Oct. 6: last day to register to vote
- Oct. 20: first day of early voting
- Oct. 23: last day to apply for a ballot by mail—with the application received in office—not postmarked
- Oct. 31: last day of early voting in person
- Nov. 4: Election Day
Hays County participates in the Countywide Polling Place Program, which allows voters to use any polling location within their county rather than having to stay within their precinct.
Early voting locations include:
- Hays County Elections Office: 120 Stagecoach Trail, San Marcos
- LBJ Student Center at Texas State University: 301 Student Center Drive, San Marcos
- Buda City Hall Multipurpose Room: 405 E. Loop St., Bldg. 100, Buda
- Sunfield Station: 2610 Main St., Kyle
- HCISD Academic Support Center: 21003 I-35 frontage road, Kyle
- Kyle City Hall: 100 West Center St., Kyle
- Hays County Transportation Department: 2171 Yarrington Road, Kyle
