Unofficial results place Juan Miguel Arredondo as the winner in the race for San Marcos CISD's District 1 board position with 59.79% of votes, or 2,037 ballots.

Challenger James Bryant Jr. received 40.21% of the vote and 1,370 ballots.

Results are updated as of 10:37 p.m. and are unofficial until they are canvassed and certified by the county clerk. Under Texas election law, the clerk accepts and counts mail-in ballots postmarked by Election Day and received by Nov. 4, if they were sent from inside the U.S., or Nov. 9 if they were sent from outside the U.S.

Juan Miguel Arredondo continues to lead James Bryant in the race for San Marcos CISD's District 1 board position. Arredondo has 59.79% of the vote with 2,037 ballots in his favor.

Bryant has 40.21% of votes, and 1,370 ballots.

The first return of unofficial early voting totals on Nov. 3 from Hays County show Juan Miguel Arredondo with an early lead in the race for San Marcos CISD District 1.

Arredondo leads James Bryant Jr. with a 59.66% share of all early votes. Bryant has 31.73%. Arredondo is also running for mayor of San Marcos.

More than 98,000 county residents cast ballots by mail or during in-person early voting, which accounts for 64.24% of 152,840 registered voters in the county.

Results are updated as of 7:25 p.m. and are unofficial until they are canvassed and certified by the county clerk. Under Texas election law, the clerk accepts and counts mail-in ballots postmarked by Election Day and received by Nov. 4, if they were sent from inside the U.S., or Nov. 9 if they were sent from outside the U.S.
