Texas State University and University Federal Credit Union officials unveiled the new signage for UFCU Stadium ahead of the Bobcats home opener against Lamar University on Aug. 31.

In case you missed it

On May 21 Texas State University and University Federal Credit Union officials announced the signing of a multitiered contract for renaming Bobcat Stadium to UFCU Stadium. The naming rights deal is the largest corporate sponsorship in the Sun Belt Conference for naming rights at a football stadium. It is also one of the largest for a college football stadium in Texas, according to a news release.

What they're saying

Texas State President Kelly Damphousse said the university has been great partners with the member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative for many years.

"They, for example, have provided a lot of literacy training for our students who come here to learn about how to handle credit, how to handle banking and so on. But this is a monumental, historic agreement," Damphousse said. "What a great day to be a Bobcat."

UFCU CEO and President Michael Crowl said the partnership was off to a "fantastic start."

"This is just the beginning, and we're just getting started," Crowl said.
