Kyle City Council approved a memorandum of understanding with Central Southwest Texas Development, LLC for Phase 2 of the Kyle Crossing development project during a regular meeting on Oct. 19. The project has had multiple developers drop out of the project over the past two years, but officials have finally come to an agreement over the two plots of land.
The northern plot of land is at the corner of Marketplace Avenue and FM 1626, while the southern plot of land is at the corner of Marketplace Avenue and City Lights Drive.
According to the presentation, 16 buildings will be on the northern plot with a courtyard and amenity center. Nine of the buildings will be restaurants or retail spaces while the remaining buildings will be mixed-use with retail on the first floor and apartments on the floors above.
The southern plot of land will have a total of 13 buildings with nine of them set to be fully residential apartment buildings, while the remaining buildings will also be mixed-use retail and apartments.
The city and the developer are now waiting for the Hays County Commissioners Court to discuss and sign onto the agreement.
