The city of Kyle has lifted the boil water notice it implemented Feb. 17 after the week's snow storms knocked power out at wastewater treatment plants and pipes burst in homes with heat, which caused water pressure to drop below safe levels.
According to a Feb. 22 news release, the city took corrective actions to restore water quality and has provided the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality with lab results indicating water is safe to consume without boiling.
The city also said customers will not see an increase in rates, which are set by ordinance when City Council passes an annual budget.
Questions regarding the city's water supply can be answered by the city's public works department by calling 512-262-3024.
