The artificial intelligence and robotics company TerraFirma has relocated its headquarters from Austin to Buda, according to an April 13 news release from the Buda Economic Development Corp.
The new 400,000-square-foot headquarters will be at the Tower Business Park, located at 1340 FM 2001 in Buda. The new space will also include an outdoor testing space for the company’s robotic and AI-driven construction equipment, according to the release.
The background
TerraFirma was founded by former SpaceX engineers and is backed by Bain Capital Ventures, the venture capital division of Bain Capital, a global private investment firm. The business combines software, robotics and advanced operational processes to make earthmoving and site work more efficient and cost-effective, according to the release.
Chief Technology Officer and co-founder Noah McGuinness said Buda is the ideal location for their headquarters.
“The region’s strong workforce, proximity to major metropolitan markets, and growing tech and AI community create the right environment for us to scale both our technology and our mission,” McGuinness said in the release. “Our team is deeply grateful to the Buda EDC for helping us secure the right home to accelerate our technology development. We are focused on building tools that remove bottlenecks in construction and ultimately make the industry faster, safer, and more cost-effective.”
