Dr. Lauren Meinke, who has worked at the clinic since 2009, officially purchased the practice from the previous owner as they were retiring in January.

Clinic staff offer a range of services, including eye exams for glasses and contacts, diabetic eye exams, and treatment for red eye, high blood pressure-related eye issues, and thyroid eye disease. They also teach first-time wearers how to insert contact lenses and perform procedures such as removing foreign objects like wood or metal from the eye.
The background
Meinke, who grew up in Sweetwater, completed her undergraduate degree at Texas Tech University and earned her optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. She moved to Austin in 2008 and began working at the San Marcos office shortly after.
