A South Korea-based electronic material manufacturer, ENF Technology Co. Ltd., broke ground on its $45 million U.S. headquarters and advanced manufacturing facility at 1550 Kohlers Crossing, Kyle, on Jan. 17.

The tech company announced plans to break ground in Kyle after Hays County commissioners and Kyle City Council approved a five-year property tax rebate in March. The 75,000-square-foot manufacturing facility is set to provide electronics for technology companies.

Jason Giulietti, interim president of the Greater San Marcos Partnership, said during the groundbreaking ceremony that he believes ENF will become a cornerstone for Kyle and have a great impact in Hays County and surrounding communities.

ENF Technology is set to hire 45-50 employees in 2020 and could eventually employ 80. The company’s investment is expected to bring the city of Kyle $598,506 as a result of the five-year agreement, according to city and county officials.

Lee Seungho, senior executive vice president of ENF Technology, said the groundbreaking would mark a foundation for success.

"We will work together to make it happen,” he said.
