The National Weather Service extended its flood watch through 10 p.m., with excessive runoff possibly resulting in flooding of low-lying and flood-prone locations.

Additional roads have been closed, including parts of:
- Memorial Park
- Chisholm Trail Crossing
- Harrell Parkway
- Old Bowman Road
The low water crossing at North Lee Street and Summit Street in central Round Rock is closed amid intense rainfall and flood conditions along Brushy Creek.

The crossing was closed in the afternoon on July 4, and remains closed as of 1 p.m. July 5.
A flood watch is in effect through 7 p.m., according to the National Weather Service, with a flash flood warning in effect until 3 p.m.
What happened?
Thunderstorms in Central Texas led to intense rainfall July 2-5, with areas north of Austin receiving three to four inches of rain in that time, according to NWS estimates of rainfall totals.
Several outages throughout the service area have also been reported by Oncor Electric Delivery.
Williamson County Judge Steve Snell has also declared a local state of disaster in response to the flooding. According to a news release, areas in the western portion of the county and along the South Fork of the San Gabriel River east of Georgetown have been evacuated. Up to 25 people have been rescued by swift water rescue teams in this area.
What's next?
The NWS is still forecasting additional showers and thunderstorms in the area, mostly before 4 p.m, with wind gusts of around 20 mph.
