An additional contract with Smith Contracting brings the total cost for the Chisholm Trail Road North project to $6.9 million. The project will widen Chisholm Trail Road to a 4-lane roadway from north of Old Settlers Boulevard to north of CR 173.
The project will also install a new signal at Chisholm Trail Road and CR 173, and should be complete by February 2026, according to Director of Public Works Michael Thane
A $127,103 consulting services agreement with Raba Kistner will allow testing of construction materials for the Greenlawn Boulevard widening project.
The project, approved in 2019, will expand Greenlawn Boulevard between I-35 and SH 45. Austin Engineering Co. is the construction company for the $13.95 million project, scheduled to begin this summer and wrap up in 2027.
What else?
Council also approved an ordinance on second reading to temporarily adjust the speed limit on South Mays Street from Nash Street to Bagdad Avenue.
The speed limit will be reduced from 35 mph to 25 mph while construction takes place for the South Mays Street wall stabilization project.
