About the projects
A wastewater line rehabilitation project for Cycle 3, Basins 4 and 5 will address the existing wastewater collection system west of SH 130 and north of Hwy. 45 to improve its function. The project is included in Round Rock's 2024 strategic plan.
The West Transmission Main is a critical pipeline that supplies potable water to Round Rock west of IH 35. The line was constructed in the '80s, and existing butterfly valves along the pipeline have become problematic, no longer performing adequately to provide isolation in the water distribution system.
This rehabilitation project will replace three of the valves to improve water system isolation and reliability in the western part of the city. Construction will begin in February, and wrap up in April 2026, according to city documents.
For the 2026 Chandler Elevated Storage Tank Rehabilitation Project, the scope of work includes the erection, welding, sandblasting and painting of the tank, to ensure its structural integrity. The contractor will also apply protective coating to the tank. Construction will begin in November and wrap up in May 2026, according to city documents.
