Harbor Health is expanding its presence in the Austin area, following acquisition of 10 Austin-area Village Medical clinics.

What happened

In a Sept. 18 news release, Harbor Health announced that through an acquisition of 32 total clinics from VillageMD, growing its local presence and entering the Dallas, El Paso and San Antonio markets.

About the business

Harbor Health is a system of primary care clinics co-founded by Dr. Clay Johnston, former dean of the Dell Medical School at The University of Texas. Harbor Health prioritizes preventive care with longer visits as well as access to a high-quality path of care through collaborative co-creation with patients. The first Harbor Health clinics opened in Central Austin and Round Rock in 2022.

With these additional clinics, Harbor Health now operates 43 clinics across the state.
