St. David's Round Rock Medical Center celebrated its 40th anniversary in September.

The hospital first opened as a 55,000-square-foot facility with 75 beds. It has since grown to 484,000 square feet with 175 beds.

A $53.1 million expansion project, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2023, will add 70,606 square feet to the hospital and bring the total capacity to over 200 beds with the addition of two floors, a 34-bed patient care unit, four operating rooms and support spaces.
