What you need to know
The contract approved by council Nov. 6 covers the expansion of the multisport facility as part of the Old Settlers Park renovations approved by voters in the 2023 bond. Construction is set to begin by mid-November and conclude by April 2027, city documents show.
The details
Under the contract with SpawGlass, additional fields will be constructed for the multipurpose complex, including:
- Four synthetic turf fields
- One natural grass championship field
- One synthetic turf championship field
- A player amenity building with grandstands
- Two restroom and storage buildings
- A concession operations building
- Associated parking
Council also approved a $7 million contract for the construction of a section of Harrell Parkway, over Chandler Branch, also with SpawGlass. Construction on this section of the road, which runs through Old Settlers Park, is set to begin in January and end in December 2026.
