Round Rock’s cost for bus services to Austin to rise
The city of Round Rock’s cost for bus service to Austin is expected to increase, as City Council will consider a change to the agreement with the Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority on Sept. 11.
The gist
As part of the agreement, Capital Metro will continue to provide fixed route bus service from Round Rock to Austin. Capital Metro provides the vehicles, supervisors, fuel and bus operators for the service.

Round Rock approves first reading of $789.7M budget
Round Rock City Council approved the first reading of its fiscal year 2025-26 budget and corresponding tax rate at a meeting Aug. 28. The budget requires a second reading before it can be finally adopted.
What happened
Council members voted unanimously to adopt the $789.7 million budget and $0.372 per $100 valuation property tax rate. The vote followed public hearings on the items.
