As Thanksgiving approaches, families and running enthusiasts in Austin and the surrounding areas are gearing up for the holiday tradition of turkey trots.

San Marcos

Thankful Turkey 5K and Kids Run

Thankful Turkey’s 5k and kid run will hold its 22nd annual trot. All proceeds will go back into the San Marcos community to benefit local and Lions’ charities and youth programs.Austin


35th Annual ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot 5-mi / 1-mi / Kids K

The ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot returns for its 35th year Thursday, Nov. 27 at the Long Center.

9th Annual Hill Country Turkey Trot 5k

The annual Hill Country Turkey Trot takes place on Nov. 27 in Austin’s Hill Country Club. Proceeds from the event will contribute to Lake Travis schools.Pflugerville

2025 Pfeathers Pfun Run


Set for Nov. 27 in the Lake Pflugerville North Beach pavilion, the Pfeathers Pfun Run will host a 10K, 5K, kids and virtual run for its 11th anniversary.

Gobbler 5K, 10K, & Half Marathon

US Road Running will offer the Gobbler Trot taking place on Nov. 22 at Bohls Park. With a time limit of 3.5 hours, runners can choose a 5K, 10K, or half-marathon by running the course multiple times.Buda

9th annual Buda Turkey Trot

The Buda Turkey Trot will feature a 5K trot with awards and a kids' 1K sprint.

Round Rock


Round Rock Turkey Trot 2025

The 9th annual Turkey Trot, hosted by the City of Round Rock and the Parks and Recreation Department, will be untimed. Participants can donate toys to Operation Blue Santa and nonperishable food to the Round Rock Serving Center—both of which will be collecting items during the event.Hutto

3rd Annual Hutto Turkey "Trail" Trot and Pajama Drive

The 3rd Annual Hutto Turkey Trail Trot and Pajama Drive will host its 3rd trot. Participants can choose from 1.1 miles to 3.1 miles and are encouraged to wear their pajamas. Donations of new pajamas for the Pajama Program will be accepted during the event.
