With $300 million yielded from the second tranche of the 2024 bond, the district will begin 151 new projects and continue work on 92 ongoing projects. Some ongoing projects were fully funded in the first year, but installation or execution has been delayed to minimize impact to the district's budget when it comes time to replace certain items, such as water bottle fillers, which will be spread over four years.
Per the district, 10 comprehensive improvements to campuses across the district are planned to break ground this year, including turf and track upgrades, HVAC and roof replacements, and relocation of about 40 portables:
- Berman Elementary School
- Great Oaks Elementary School
- Deerpark Middle School
- Cedar Ridge High School
- McNeil High School
- Stony Point High School
- Westwood High School
- C.D. Fulkes Auditorium
- CTE Center
- Support services buildings
The district will also see targeted projects at Forest North, Robertson and Voight elementary schools to replace playgrounds; roofing improvements at Blackland Prairie and Gattis elementary schools; and new generators at its central kitchens.
