Round Rock ISD will soon begin work on renovations and expansions at multiple campuses, administrators shared in April, as projects funded by the 2024 bond kick off.

Trustees were provided an update on the first program year of projects funded by the 2024 bond April 17. RRISD Chief Financial Officer Dennis Covington said the district has planned about $278.14 million in bond issuance to cover projects across the district.

The details

The $278.14 million is a fraction of the $798.3 million approved for improvements to district facilities under Proposition A in November.


Trustees approved the selection of architects to undertake design of several projects at district campuses, including:

Berkman Elementary School
  • Campus addition and removal of portables
  • Playground addition
  • Renovation of interior floors
  • Cosmetic repair to school marquee
  • Improvements to existing stage curtain
  • Installation of a water bottle refill station
C.D. Fulkes Middle School
  • Auditorium refresh
McNeil High School
  • Repair and replacement of tennis courts to address issues with soil
  • Improvements to bleachers and press box
  • Turf replacements for baseball and softball facilities
  • Fine arts uniform replacements
  • Interior renovation to the school's third phase
  • Security communication system replacement
  • Roof replacement
Stony Point High School
  • Improvements to athletics facilities in the school
  • Athletics scoreboard
  • Tie in irrigation system to reclaimed water line
  • Roofing replacement
  • Turf replacement for baseball and softball facilities
  • Interior wall and floor refresh
  • Dance program addition
  • New uniforms for fine arts
  • Water bottle refill station installation
Additional district-wide projects funded by the first series of bonds include:
  • Construction costs for the Early College High School
  • Purchase of space for new career and technology education center to house electrical trades, cosmetology, automotive, autobody, early childhood and the district's 18+ program
  • Expanding furniture replacements to include more campuses
  • Replacement of 65 buses
