Round Rock ISD campuses scored a 96% on safety audits conducted by the Texas Education Agency, a new update from the district shows.

What you need to know

In a Nov. 6 update regarding safety and security, district administrators shared that the district earned a 96% on safety audits conducted at the 14 campuses that have been audited by the TEA this year.

According to the district, these audits include:
  • Determining campuses can be access by unsecured or unauthorized means
  • Finding any exterior doors that are unlocked
  • Ensuring accurate and correct records of weekly door checks are kept on each campus
This is just one of several updates on district safety initiatives provided by the district.

The big picture

The Nov. 6 update also outlines an expansion of RRISD's effort to install safety film on exterior windows. This year, the district installed film on all windows meeting requirements from the state, and will expand the new feature to include all exterior-facing windows districtwide. Completion of this effort is anticipated by June.

In addition to window film, the district will pursue updated fencing across all campuses by 2029, with plans to address fencing needs at around 10 campuses per year.
