Editor's note: This story has been updated to reflect the correct number of classrooms.

A 25,000-square-foot expansion to Round Rock ISD's Brushy Creek Elementary is on schedule for a fall 2024 completion, campus officials shared in a recent bond project update.

What's happening?

Sixteen additional classrooms with moveable partitions are under construction at the elementary school, campus Principal Jenny Strong said in the update. Funded by the 2018 bond, the expansion will eliminate the campus's need to house classrooms in portables. The addition will be connected to the original campus structure by an enclosed corridor.

The project also covers expansion and updates to the existing cafeteria and gym.

The backstory

In 2022, RRISD trustees capped the cost of the project at $13.74 million and included the enclosed connecting corridor at that time.
