A variety of summer school programs will soon be available for Round Rock ISD students who may be in need of additional educational support.

New and continuing programs are included in the district's summer programming plan, which meets legislative requirements, such as those set out by House Bill 4545, which mandates supplemental learning acceleration, among other initiatives to combat COVID-19-driven learning loss. Programs for elementary, middle and high school students in the district were approved by RRISD trustees Feb. 16.

An overview of programming from the district is below.
  • Elementary programming
    • Emergent Bilingual Prekindergarten and Kindergarten
    • Emergent Bilingual Newcomers’ Summer Learning (first-fourth grade)
  • Launch
    • For students whose State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness 2023 performance demonstrates additional need. Students in this program will receive accelerated instruction in both reading and math, according to the district. This program will meet the requirements of HB 4545.
  • Programs for secondary students
    • Social Emotional Learning Camp: middle school
    • Advanced Math Camp: middle school
    • Propel: middle school
      • For students whose STAAR 2023 performance demonstrates additional need. Students in this program will receive accelerated instruction in both reading and math, according to the district. This program will meet the requirements of HB 4545.
    • Summer Acceleration: high school
    • Texas Success Initiative Assessment Preparation: high school
