A new sweet spot is now open in Round Rock.
The Round Rock franchise of Peach Cobbler Factory held a soft opening May 22. It is located in the Sky Plaza retail center.

2. Liberty Hill annexes property on Hwy. 29 to become commercial development
Liberty Hill will annex a 21-acre tract of land along Hwy. 29 near Butler Farms Boulevard and rezone it for commercial use following a vote at the May 27 City Council meeting.
3. Mountain Mike's opens first Williamson County location
A new pizzeria is taking Cedar Park's restaurant scene to new heights. Mountain Mike’s will open its second Austin-area location June 3 in Cedar Park.
The pizza franchise offers classic styles, such as cheese and pepperoni, along with mountain-named specialties such as The Everest, Pikes Peak and Mt. Veggiemore. Additionally, the California-based pizzeria serves wings, fries, garlic sticks, salads and desserts.
4. Georgetown officials remove local alcohol permit fee
Georgetown City Council passed an ordinance to repeal the city's local fee for Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission permits at a May 26 meeting.
The city previously charged businesses a fee for TABC permits, which generated about $4,000 a year for the city's budget, Chief Financial Officer Leigh Wallace said.
5. Austin raises senior, disabled homeowner property tax exemption by $12K
Austin officials once again increased the city's property tax break for senior and disabled homeowners.
Homestead exemptions allow property owners to lower the share of their primary residence's value that can be taxed by local entities. Texas school districts are now required to offer a set base exemption of $140,000, while other jurisdictions like cities can set a percentage based on a home's appraised value.
6. Bastrop's Texas Roadhouse sets late July opening
Texas Roadhouse will soon welcome diners at Bastrop's 75-acre mixed-use development called Sendero.
Managing partner Abel Fragoso told Community Impact the steakhouse is on track for a late July opening.
