Community Impact featured a variety of restaurants in the Round Rock area this year. Check out these six dining spots to grab a bite.

1. AustIndia Bar & Restaurant promotes North Indian cuisine in Round Rock

Since Dec. 22, 2022, AustIndia Bar & Restaurant has shaped a space for Round Rock community members to enjoy North Indian entrees and a variety of cocktails in Sky Ridge Plaza.

Must-try menu items

Amritsari Naan Kulcha Plate: a leavened, butter-topped flatbread with spicy potato filling, chana masala, raw onions and mango pickle ($12.99).


Tandoori Sizzlers: kebabs marinated in yogurt and Indian spices cooked in a clay pit oven and served on a sizzling hot plate ($13.99-$24.99).

2. Little Mama’s strives to provide new flavors in Round Rock with Filipino cuisine

For 10 years, family owned restaurant Little Mama’s has served the Round Rock community a taste of the Philippines.


The counter-service eatery has fueled Filipino community members looking for a comforting meal in addition to individuals looking to put new cuisine on their plate.

On the menu

The restaurant’s menu offers traditional Filipino cuisine including lumpia, pancit, pork barbecue, pinoy curry and whole fried fish. A majority of customers order the pancit, skinny glass noodles with chicken, cabbage and carrot; and lumpia, a crispy pork egg roll.

3. Zorba Greek Restaurant transforms Round Rock into Greece with traditional cuisine

With red, low-hanging lights, bright canvases showcasing Greece framing the walls and Greek music playing at all times, customers at Zorba Greek Restaurant can experience the culture's cuisine without leaving Round Rock.

What’s on the menu

The eatery’s most-ordered items are the Chicken Plate, thinly sliced chicken breast served with rice pilaf and hummus; Gyro Plate, thinly sliced roasted lamb and beef topped with tzatziki sauce served with rice pilaf and hummus; and Chicken Salad, chicken breast served over a classic feta salad with tzatziki sauce.

4. Palermo Pasta House combines family atmosphere with handcrafted, Argentine-Italian meals

In May 2015, Antonio Giner brought his cooking skill set to Round Rock and created Palermo Pasta House, a family-owned restaurant in the heart of downtown.

Diners can enjoy appetizers, salads, pizzas, calzones and a variety of pasta dishes. The restaurant offers 28 pasta sauces and six pasta shapes, which can each be paired however the customer desires.

5. Backporch Social promotes family-friendly space in downtown Round Rock

As a longtime Round Rock resident with his own family roots in the city, Mingo Hernandez found himself chatting with friends about the lack of family-friendly hangout options downtown.

With business experience and a drive to bring something new to the table, Hernandez and his fellow co-owners Johnny Ontiveros and David Solis opened Backporch Social in October 2023.

Must-try menu items

Hernandez’s favorite menu item is the burger, which is made with fresh meat that is delivered once or twice a week and comes with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles with the customer’s choice of side. Diners can find unique menu items that typically can only be found at fairs or festivals, including funnel cake, churros, fried Oreos, chicken on a stick and Frito pie.

6. A lifetime of cooking passion served in a bowl: Round Rock's Misaki Ramen

After working for over a decade in the software engineering industry, Mike Ng decided to pivot in his career path and follow his passion for cooking. With years of cooking experience and life-long admiration for the craft, Ng opened Misaki Ramen and now serves authentic Japanese and Korean meals to the Round Rock community.

Must-try menu items

While the most popular ramen on the menu is bulgogi ramen, Ng said his personal favorite is the oishi. The dish features tonkotsu broth with house-made black garlic oil, pork belly, ajitama, nori, wood-ear mushrooms, green onions and fried minced garlic.
