Cork & Barrel Craft Kitchen and Microbrewery will soon change hands, owners Jay Kudla and Sam Darlington announced via social media July 10.

What you need to know

Ownership of the Irish-inspired pub will change after July 13, which will be the restaurant and brewery's last day of operation as Cork & Barrel, according to the posting.

It is not yet clear what the future of the restaurant, which also has a location in Leander, will be, although the post indicates it will continue to operate as a business.

About the business

Kudla and Darlington opened Cork & Barrel Craft Kitchen and Microbrewery in early 2021 with the goal of creating an authentic Irish pub experience.

Darlington grew up in Ireland and lived there for 30 years before moving to Texas. Kudla said Darlington’s life experiences served as the basis for what they wanted Cork & Barrel to be—a blend of familiar Texan and genuine Irish atmospheres.

The two began working on Cork & Barrel in 2018 and opened in March 2021. From design to construction, Kudla and Darlington did most of the work themselves.
