Round Rock residents may notice volunteers out in the community this weekend, when more than 1,500 people participate in service projects around the city.

The overview

Love The Rock is an annual community service event, organized by over 30 area churches. This year, the group of volunteers will perform various projects serving Round Rock ISD, Round Rock parks and residents within the Chisholm Valley neighborhood on Oct. 18.

Projects include curb painting, conducting fire safety surveys, tree planting, cleaning up neighborhoods, volunteering at the Round Rock Area Serving Center, gardening at RRISD schools and more. While the majority of spots to volunteer for the event have been filled, a few slots still remain.

Volunteers will meet at First Baptist Church Round Rock, located at 306 Round Rock Ave., Round Rock. The event lasts from 8 a.m.-noon, Oct. 18. To learn more about Love The Rock, visit here.
