Kalahari Resorts & Conventions celebrated the opening of its water park expansion in Round Rock on June 21.

The $5 million expansion brings additional outdoor amenities and attractions to the resort, which already boasts the largest indoor water park in the state. Included in the expansion is a water play area called Bug's Burrow, featuring nine water slides; a 900-foot lazy river; and a 1,100-square-foot swim- and walk-up bar for adults only.

The lazy river is 3 feet deep, with multiple deck sprays, waterfalls and a waterfall bridge.

“Nothing beats Texas summer heat like being at a waterpark,” said Gerson Velasquez, general manager of the Round Rock resort. "Kalahari is dedicated to continuing to improve our resort, so guests have beyond-expectations experiences when staying with us."

Located at 3001 Kalahari Blvd., Round Rock, Kalahari Resorts & Conventions boasts the largest indoor water park in Texas, offering a variety of resort amenities, including a spa and restaurants.
