Original post: Early voting tallies have been submitted and show Carlos Salinas leading the race over Russ Boles for Williamson County Commissioner Precinct 4. Salinas has garnered 16,334 votes, or 50.53 percent of the county's early votes. Whichever candidate wins tonight will fill the seat left by Larry Madsen, who has served in the role since October 2016. Madsen was appointed to the seat following the death of Ron Morrison, who had served on the Williamson County Commissioners Court for a decade. Williamson County Precinct 4 includes portions of Round Rock and Hutto, Taylor, Thrall and Granger. Salinas previously served on the dais for Round Rock City Council. On his website, Salinas advocates for smart growth policies, health care services for county residents and dedicated resources for the county's parks and trails. Boles, who won the GOP candidacy in a May runoff election against Bobby Seiferman, currently serves as director of the Brazos River Authority. In February Boles told Community Impact Newspaper that growth, taxes and roads were the largest issues Williamson County is facing. Election Day results are expected to come in shortly after 7 p.m. Community Impact Newspaper will update results as they continue to come in. All results are unofficial until canvassed by officials.
