Round Rock ISD has canceled its April 3 Chromebook distribution services due to inclement weather, the district announced in an April 2 news release. In the release, the district cited the high probability of severe rain and thunderstorms in the forecast, adding that an additional distribution day can be added next week, if needed.
"Unfortunately, there is no way to distribute Chromebooks curbside in a way that ensures the safety of our staff and the protection of the equipment during a rainstorm," the release read.
Online learning instruction begins April 6 for district students. If students do not have access to a Chromebook or Internet prior to April 6, district officials confirmed in the release that at-home lessons are self-paced and allow for flexibility in completion. Printed versions of learning materials will also be available at meal distribution sites, accessible Mon.-Fri. from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
