Fuego Latino Gastropub will soon open in the place of the now closed Mambo House at 206 N. Mays St., Round Rock. Executive chef and owner Jorge Alcocer said he plans to open the restaurant Aug. 22, after he finishes some renovations to the space. The restaurant will feature dishes from Latin America with flavors from the Caribbean. Alcocer said the menu would include meals with empanadas, beef and chimichurri, flavors and dishes for which Argentina is famous. Alcocer said the restaurant will offer diners a quick breakfast and lunch option with fast service available. The restaurant will postpone offering dinner until a liquor license is available. Alcocer said this is necessary to provide the full experience. Previously, Alcocer has worked as an executive chef, restaurant chef and banquet chef at various locations of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts.
