The project, estimated to cost between $35 million and $45 million according to officials, will include sending RM 620 traffic over the Union Pacific railroad tracks, while a roundabout below the overpass will give access to Chisholm Trail Road and several businesses near the overpass. It is one of dozens of road projects Round Rock will complete by 2040, when the population of the city is projected to be at 330,000. The overpass will stretch from west of Brentwood Street to the I-35 frontage road on RM 620. The project will be a joint effort of the city of Round Rock, Williamson County and the Texas Department of Transportation. Some land clearing work is taking place to prepare for construction. A complete update will be available in the next edition of the Round Rock, Pflugerville and Hutto edition of Community Impact Newspaper.
