The Pflugerville Chamber of Commerce announced Shontel Mays as its new CEO on Monday. Mays will replace Patricia Gervan-Brown,
who is retiring after 23 years with the organization.
In a release the chamber said Mays brings 27 years of experience in executive management, marketing and business development to the role. She previously served as the senior development manager for the March of Dimes-Central Texas Division and earned recognition from the United States Chamber of Commerce in 2015 for completing the Institute for Organizational Management program.
"I’m honored to be selected to lead the Pflugerville Chamber of Commerce,” Mays said in the release. “Ms. Gervan-Brown has ensured the chamber is in a strong position to move forward, and I’m excited to work with the board, staff and volunteers to build on that momentum with a strategic focus on our membership growth and advocacy for our business community."
Mays will assume the position Feb. 1. She will officially take over at the chamber's annual banquet March 1.
